Sterling Staircase & Handrail began in 1994 when lifelong craftsman, Frits Momsen turned his focus to the art of tangent handrailing. He has since shared the knowledge with our team and the tradition continues.

In 2007, Sandy Thompson took over control of daily operations. Today, Sterling Staircase & Handrail is built around the collaboration of Sandy Thompson and Zach Taylor.

Combining years of building and woodworking experience, Sterling Staircase & Handrail brings together the skills of experienced stairbuilders, finish carpenters, fine-furniture makers, woodworkers, and a luthier, to produce the depth of knowledge and experience needed to succeed on all levels with the projects at hand.
